Celebrating 30 Years of Sutton and Wandle Valley Ramblers

Who we are:
We are the Sutton and Wandle Valley Ramblers. We are part of the Ramblers' Association and our group is one of sixteen in the Surrey Area. We have about 500 members living in the London Boroughs of Sutton and Merton as well as the village of Banstead.
What we do:
Walking and Chatting
We are a friendly group of walkers who organise regular group walks ranging from easy walks in the local area to longer day hikes in the Surrey and South East. We walk in a wide variety of locations and terrains. Town walks, river walks, country walks, special interest walks.
Where possible we meet locally and use public transport to get to and from each walk. When it is necessary to use cars we operate a "car sharing" scheme in order to save money and minimise the environmental impact. Our walks usually include a lunch stop at a pub or restaurant or you can "bring your own" picnic.
Paths and public access
We work with the local councils and other authorities to ensure local pathways and public access for walkers is maintained and any planning proposals affecting pathways are studied and representations made where necessary. If you spot any problems with local public footpaths please let us know.
Social Events
We also have a programme of social events including visits to country houses, museums and cinemas and social meetings.
Join us to get more exercise, enjoy the countryside and meet new friends!
