CARSHALTON ECOFAIR MONDAY 31ST AUGUST

We are once again hosting a stall at the above fair to promote our group and the benefits of walking for enjoyment and to keep fit.
We will need help from 9.30 until 11.00 to set up, the Eco Fair opens at 10.30, then throughout the course of the day until approximately 17.00 thereafter until 17.30 when we will need help to clear up.

COACH TRIP - Eastbourne - £19.00

There are still some seats available and booking for friends, family and Epsom and Ewell ramblers will be open on Monday 10th August.

For medium and long walkers please let leader know by 7th September if you want a pub lunch

Short Drop off at Beachy Head Visitor Centre where there should be toilets. Downhill along coast to Eastbourne Pier and town centre.

[ 1 ] – THE QUADRANT - Behind Sutton Station at 8.30 am

[ 2 ] – NORTH CHEAM - Near Wetherspoons at 8.45 am

Booking is open! Initially, seats will be restricted to members of the SWV Ramblers.

If the coach has not been filled by our group by 10th August any spare places will be offered to friends’ family and Epsom and Ewell Ramblers, but SWVR will still be able to book during this period.

So, to ensure you get a place please book early.

If you have to cancel or are unable to attend on the day please phone Jackie on 07966 729802, as this will avoid an unnecessary delay to the coach departure. We will be unable to refund any monies due to cancellation unless the seat is filled.

Payment of £19.30 by cheque (enclosed with your application) or £19.00 BACS bank payment to the SWVR account (preferred method) to be made within 14 days of your coach place being reserved.

We will confirm your booking once received.  Please inform your  Pick up Point, (Sutton Station/North Cheam) and Walk Group, Long, Medium, Short walk or none.

Cheques should be payable to Sutton & Wandle Valley Group - Ramblers’ Association. These will only be cashed if a place is confirmed. For BACS payments: Bank Sort Code: 60-83-01,

Thursday

OPTOMETRISTS MUSEUM - Meet at 09:30 at Sutton Station  to catch 09:42 train to Victoria where we will have a refreshment stop. The Meeting Room Tour begins at 11:30 lasting up to 2 hours.  There may be an extra bonus of a ghost or two!!! 

The payment is £10 payable on the day. 

Lunch will be at St Martin's in the Field.

TOUR OF THE CHARTERHOUSE

Built in 1371 this ex-plague pit became a monastery, mansion and almshouse. It became a museum in 2017. The Brothers' Tour lasting 90 minutes is £18 per person  There is also a museum display and chapel with free entry. Please book after 1st October.
