 Roger's Alphabetic Trail - From Epsom to Horsham and, in 2023, to Littlehampton

A new implementation of Roger's Trail first walked in 2010, using the same transport link from Sutton (the 09:54 Horsham train, calling at Epsom departing 10:05) for all walks for your convenience.

20/07/2022 Roger A: Epsom to Ashtead A new implementation of Roger's Trail first walked in 2010, using the same transport link from Sutton (the 09:54 Horsham train, calling at Epsom departing 10:05) for all walks for your convenience. This time the walks will be shortish but still including a pub if possible. All you have to do each time is turn up at Sutton Station Platform 2 by 09:50 (or Epsom at 10:05) with a Freedom Pass, Senior Railcard and a return (from Ewell East/West to the further station).  This first stage crosses Epsom and Ashtead Commons by easy paths to the Star (pub/picnic, busy road to cross) then avoids most of the mud to reach the station 
03/08/2022 Roger B: Ashtead to Leatherhead Through the centre of Ashtead up to the Downs, then follow Stane Street before turning right and descending to the river at Leatherhead. Pub/picnic near end.
17/08/2022 Roger C: Leatherhead to Box Hill Out by the river again, diverting to Mickleham for lunch (pub/picnic) at The Running Horses.
31/08/2022 Roger D: Box Hill to Dorking  Hilly. Coffee and toilets at Ryka's and/or Box Hill NT.  Descend to the Box Hill Trail, parallel to the NDW and PW, and go west to Boxhill Farm, before a further descent to the river at Pixham. Then to lunch at the Watermill (pub/picnic).
14/09/2022 Roger E: Dorking to Holmwood Through the town then up joining the Greensand Way, then down to Blackbrook Lane for lunch at The Royal Oak (picnic possible). After lunch through North Holmwood and Holmwood Common before crossing fields to Holmwood Station.
28/09/2022 Roger F: Holmwood to Ockley We will have coffee at The Six Bells, Newdigate and lunch at The Crown, Capel.
19/10/2022 Roger G: Ockley to Warnham South to Knoll Hill Farm, joining the Sussex Border Path but then continuing south, crossing Tickfold Gill to reach lunch at The Owl, Kingsfold. Some road walking to reach Warnham (further possible stop) before the final mile to the station
26/10/2022 Roger H: Warnham to Horsham Coffee/toilets in Warnham village after 1 mile, then from the church across fields, then joining the West Sussex Literary trail into Horsham via Horsham Park. The pub is Dog & Bacon, North Parade, Horsham.
