The Parkland Walk (Highgate Area) 28/2/2019
The Parkland Walk is the longest Linear Nature Reserve in London at 2.5 miles in length, and follows the former railway line connecting Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace which opened in 1873.
Unlike earlier this week the weather today was overcast and at times very wet.
This is the Green Spriggan sculpture by Marilyn Collins, in an alcove of the wall at the footbridge before the former Crouch End station. According to a local urban legend, a ghostly 'goat-man' haunted the walk in the 1970s and 1980s. The sculpture, and Parkland Walk generally, provided the inspiration for Stephen King's short story "Crouch End".

And this is a picture of the group close to the sculture - you can see the weather is wet!

And finally this is a picture of the group descending the stairs from Archway Road (A1) to the entrance to Highgate station.
